Nina Šepel

Nina Šepel was born in Vilnius. She is an engineer by training. She started painting in 1998, originally in oil paints on canvas, then switching to painting on silk. What started as a hobby after a few years has become a way of life and her main occupation. She has been studying with artist Alla Sviridenko since 2007 and is still improving her skills in painting on silk and batik in Alla’s workshops.

Nina has been a member of the Lithuanian Folk Artists Union in Vilnius since 2012.

Nina’s work reflects her love of nature.  Her colors are full of life and resonance. One can find simplicity in Nina‘s works, a desire to share with the audience her experiences and emotions, a call to move away from the gray daily routine and plunge into the world of colors. Nina’s works are very decorative, feminine, comfortable and warm. Currently, her work is exhibited at Victoria’s Gallery.

Nina has participated in one international and two Lithuanian workshops of painters in Veisiejai and Druskininkai. In 2009 she took part in a group exhibition, "Silk Palette,” at Victoria’s Gallery. Her personal exhibitions have included "Silk Rainbow,” in the Vilnius Teachers' House in 2011, "Life is Beautiful," in Vilnius City Hall and “... and flowers " in the Polish cultural center, both in 2012, and "Silk Gardens” in Ignalina National Museum, in 2013.
